Johnny Damon Sellout
Stars like Brett Favre who stick around a team for a career are rarer and rarer.
Anyways, I would just like to thank Kevin Garnett, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobli, Brian Urlacher, even Brett Favre, and some of my other favorite players for finding the team that fits them and playing with them and not selling out every three years.

Just What Red Sox Fans Needed
No one is Boston is happy with the Johnny Damon trade.
Johnny Damon defected from the Boston Red Sox to the New York Yankees Tuesday night and immediately asked George Steinbrenner for political asylum… and a couple gift certificates to SuperCuts for Christmas.

Sox Lose Damon, The World Still Turns
Did someone notify the authorities:
The Boston sports media is aghast that Johnny Damon has left the Boston Red Sox to sign with the New York Yankees, and rightly so. For reporters, Johnny Damon was their “go-to” guy; Damon could always be relied upon to speak after every game, no matter how great the defeat or insignificant the victory. For the armchair pundit, losing Johnny Damon is the pinnacle of an offseason where the Red Sox traded their starting shortstop for a spunky, unproven third baseman and failed to re-sign Theo Epstein.

First Class Sportsmen Don’t Train In Malaysia
Malaysian sports and politics all jumbled up here:
Najib should be our Sports Minister. No, I am serious. He should be since he made 2 valid points about sports excellence in Malaysia. The first was in February when Najib said that Malaysia did Vijay Singh a big favor by not granting him permanent residence. The underlying message: Don’t be a Malaysian if want to excel at international level?

Odd Thoughts
This is a really odd thought, indeed.
So the other day as I was hanging out with Colby and contemplating the nature of the universe, I got to thinking about (are you ready for this? try not to shit…) knitting. I was thinking about the joys of handknit socks and my Hat of Epic Proportions and out of nowhere Shaq jumped into my head. I wondered where the hell they’d possibly get size 22 socks for a dude that big. I mean, these days he’s rich enough to afford his own wing at the Fruit of the Loom plant, but when he was just a Growing Boy, did his mom recruit little old ladies in Germany and Bavaria to knit him socks? She must’ve!

Criswell Predicts!
We love it when Criswell predicts!
And, finally, I PREDICT … that the following will occur: Alfonso Soriano will play for the Nationals - AS THEIR CATCHER; Mike Piazza will play center field for the Anaheim Angels - and will then be traded to the Milwaukee Brewers for DANNY KOLB; Brad Ausmus will hit 40 home runs - IN THE HOME RUN DERBY; David Ortiz will steal 30 bases - BY THE ALL STAR BREAK; Julio Franco outhits Carlos Delgado, THEN DIES of a heart attack in October caused by his wife, Anna Franco; Larry Bowa will be accused of poisoning Joe Torre, but the culprit will be DON ZIMMER; Sidney Ponson will pitch his team to the League Championship Series; and, not least but last, Mark Prior will win 20 games - IN ONE MONTH!

Monday's Thoughts
We can imagine a lot of looks on Peyton Manning's face.
• If you’re not rooting for the Colts to finish undefeated, and you’re a Patriots fan, you don’t understand sports. Trust me; an undefeated Indy team is more susceptible than a one-loss squad. I find myself thinking about that game two or three times a day, it’s going to rank with the all-time special moments of being a New England sports fan. You know, I could care less if the Pats win the Super Bowl this year but the Sheriff has never, ever, wanted a victory more than Indy in the postseason. Can you imagine the look on Peyton Manning’s face?

Cup O' Joe Rundown
A rather comprehensive rundown on the Lions and the Packers. Bring a large cup of Joe!
This gives Theisman and the boys enough time to show Joey Scarrington on the sideline. Bundled to the max in an onslaught of NFL attire, you can’t help but wonder what’s going on in his head. I think it was Black Eyed Peas if you ask me, anybody notice the iPod? Regardless, the boys in the booth bring up his “inconsistancy” and the fact that he won’t play here again because he’s “a major disappointment.” Sounds like our article from earlier in the week, eh?

Eagles Thoughts
If you blog about sports, submit your post to Blog Carnival with the submit button at the top of the left column. After yesterday’s Eagles-Packers game, in which Brett Favre competed with Mike McMahon for the title of Week 12 Inept QB, do you still think the Birds would be undefeated if the Green Bay Overthrow King was their signal caller this season?

The Unfortunate Mr. Irvin
A synopsis of Dallas Cowboy's Michael Irvin's off-field escapades.
Former Dallas Cowboys receiver Michael Irvin was charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia after Plano police officers searched his vehicle during a traffic stop today. He also had an outstanding warrant for speeding.
Now this isn’t his first brush with the law, lets for the sake of fun list them here one by one:

Sosa To The Mets?
It doesn't make sense to go to the Mets, does it?
Also, quickly, about the Mets -- there is a rumor that they might sign Sammy Sosa because of his connection with GM Omar Minaya. The thinking is that as a part-time RF, he might provide the Mets some depth and extra pop for 200-350 AB's. If I were the Mets, I'd leave Sammy the hell alone. He's shot. Done for. Has nothing left. The Mets should do what they can to focus on adding a setup man, a starter for the back end of their rotation and a utility infielder. They don't need Sosa and Sosa, at this point in his career trajectory, doesn't need the boos from Mets fans. If Sosa's smart, he either takes a job in a low-pressure situation (ie Midwest or West Coast) or simply walks away from the game.

Reluctantly Confirming The Rumor
LOL.
Brad Pitt did indeed file papers this weekend in Los Angeles Superior Court to finalize my adoption. I hope the press will observe my privacy as I confront the difficult dilemma of whether to adjust my monogram as per Jolie-Pitt or Pitt-Jolie.
(As to that other salacious rumor regarding me, a star NFL quarterback, a gay porn actor and that weekend at Las Palmas Hotel–I have no comment.)
