Boston Red Sox Call Up Jeremi Gonzalez
Time for some fresh blood in the Red Sox line-up.
The Boston Red Sox called up pitcher Jeremi Gonzalez from Triple-A Pawtucket on Monday and designated first baseman David McCarty for assignment.Gonzalez, the starter for Monday's game against Detroit, was 1-2 with a 3.00 ERA in four starts for Pawtucket. He has made 79 major league appearances with the Cubs (1997-98) and Devil Rays (2003-04), going 24-32 with a 4.69 ERA.
